This moderately difficult route is located in the “Pale di San Martino, San Lucano, Dolomiti Bellunesi, Vette Feltrine” system of the UNESCO Dolomites. The landscape of the Rolle Pass is marked by the stark contrast between the western section, where the Lagorai porphyritic mountain chain with its powerful volcanic rocks ends, and the eastern side, home to the peaks of the Pale di San Martino with their clear sedimentary covering of dolomite rock. Baita Segantini stands on a large, undulating plain which gives a superb view of the most famous peaks in this enormous group: Cimon della Pala, Cima di Vezzana and Sass Maor. Here there are traces of the geological and geodynamic process which created the Pale di San Martino group.
