This moderately difficult itinerary winds around the foot of Mount Pelmo, one of the most representative peaks in the Dolomites. It is located in the “Pelmo – Croda da Lago” system of the UNESCO Dolomites. The route offers a splendid journey in the history of the Earth: the characteristic morphology of Mount Pelmo, standing tall and alone, shows the island conformation which makes the Dolomite landscape so instantly recognisable and, together with Mount Civetta, gives a good idea of what the fossil landscape looked like 100 million years ago.
