The Bdè farm, which breeds Jersey and Brown Swiss cattle, is located in Casamazzagno above the San Leonardo chapel at an elevation of 1400 metres. The farm is a model of production quality as well as an intergenerational essential rapport; for young Marco, the father, who is a dairyman by profession, and his uncle Marcello, the quality of a product and a region is perceived in the food that it produces. And Marcello’s wife, Elisabetta, and their youngest daughter, Maria, pitch in by managing a B&B in a part of the house which has undergone conservation restoration work, while the younger generation has focused heavily on quality, which they achieve through experience as well as technical and scientific knowledge. The value of the product and of the Dolomites is of paramount importance, as are the farmers who are the custodians of the region, because they combine work with their desire to preserve the Dolomites region.
