Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites

This particular museum is known also as “Museo delle Nuvole” (Museum of Clouds) and it has been very much desired by the mountaineer Reinhold Messner within the project Messner Mountain Museum (MMM). The Messner Mountain Museum Dolomites rises on Monte Rite at 2178 mt above the sea level: in this place you can enjoy of a 360° view on the whole Cadore area, Val di Zoldo and Conca d’Ampezzo, and also on the top areas of the Dolomites. The exhibition is placed on a former fort of the First World War and the ruins of the former fortification have been recovered thanks to an intensive renovation activity.
Within the museum, there are many works by world-renowned artists and also some rooms dedicated to the exhibition of documents and evidence telling the Dolomites’ history and of their related mountaineering deeds.
