Typical foods

The Dolomite area is rich in typical foods, some of which are very well known. Examples include cheeses from the Fiemme and Fassa valleys, speck (smoked raw ham), apples, and many wines that are highly renowned all over the world.

Of the many foods that distinguish the Dolomites, speck (smoked raw ham) is certainly the best known. However, lucanica (fresh sausage) and pancetta (Italian bacon) from Trentino are also quite often served on the tables in our regions.

Once again the mushroom season is in full swing and all the rain in August at least bore some fruits…well, not fruits, but mushrooms!!

The great dairy tradition in the Dolomites is famous all over the world for its unique cheeses, some of which are recognized as Slow Food Presidia.
