The Val di Sole occupies the north western extremity of Trentino and stretches from Passo del Tonale (on the border with Lombardy) to the entrance of Valle di Non in the east. The tourist district includes two side valleys, Pejo and Rabbi, two areas that are famous for its thermal spas. The valley is surrounded by the Brenta, Adamello, Presanella and Ortles-Cevedale mountain groups and about a third of its territory is an integral part of the Adamello-Brenta Nature Park and Stelvio National Park. Nature is marked by an impressive and majestic scenery: vast glaciers top the majestic and high mountains grown by flowering forest in lower altitudes giving space to cultivated land and orchards.
Nature as well as architecture feature the alpine character, such as the wooden and rock huts embedded in the Val di Rabbi, the villages of the Val di Sole with their remains of former mountain villages, houses of historical and cultural interest (numerous churches, Castel Caldés, Castel San Michele of Ossana).
