The www.visitdolomites.com web portal was conceived within an interregional project whose aim is the touristic promotion and development of the Dolomites area, involving the Veneto Region, the Autonomous Province of Trento and the Autonomous Province of South Tyrol. The project was launched in 2005 and intends to carry out institutional-level advertising initiatives integrated with promotional and marketing elements in order to support the tourism industry of the three Dolomitic areas involved.
The interregional project leader is the Veneto Region. Trentino Marketing S.p.A – the company managed and coordinated by the Autonomous Province of Trento for which it provides tourism and local promotional initiatives for Trentino – has been charged with carrying out the web-based promotional and marketing activities as well as managing the www.visitdolomites.com website.
The website gathers in a single website the information on hotels, holiday offers and events from the participating institutions’ individual tourism websites. The information is displayed in a new integrated web format and is further enriched by additional specific information. In this way, the “Dolomites” as a destination is supported and promoted in the best way possible on the web.
