History&Tradition - Ötzi the Iceman

Not alive - yet kicking! What is all the fuss about?

He's over 5,000 years old and has been the talk of the past years not only in Tyrol, but all over the world: Ötzi the Iceman.
Ötzi the Iceman is probably the ownly mummy on earth to have his own museum.
The Ötzi museum in Bozen/Bolzano has been home to the over 5000-year-old Iceman, the oldest human mummy on earth, since 1998. Every year thousands of visitors come to see the Iceman, not only.
They can also find out how he was found, how he lived, what he had eaten. His utensils, his weapons and his beautiful fur coat are just some examples of the objects that can be admired.
Ötzi's story is not over yet. Since his discovery in the Alps in 1991 in the Ötztal Alps, every year a new discovery by scientists has created a great fuss in all the archeological world. Bit by bit the scientists are putting together the puzzle regarding the life and death of the "Frozen Fritz".
Just recently a scientist discovered that the Iceman had been killed by an arrow shot from behind following the discovery of an arrowhead lodged in his shoulder. Who was this man? The story continues...
