Palazzo Roccabruna
Whoever wants to discover the food and drink typical of the Province of Trento should visit the palace of “Roccabruna” in the town of Trento.
Up until the 18th century the Roccabruna family, whose history dates back to the 12th century, was one of the most renowned noble families in Trentino. Palazzo Roccabruna was built in the 16th century and was owned for centuries by this famous dynasty.
In 2002 the Chamber of Commerce of Trento became the owner of the building in the historical town centre of Trento. The palace was then renovated and it has been the promotion centre of Trentino products since 2004. The so-called “Casa dei Prodotti Trentini” (House of the products of Trentino) now hosts different types of events all year round with a variety of exhibitions and seminars, thus enabling the visitor to taste the products and find out all sorts of things about the typical food of Trentino such as its wines, cheeses, sausages and its “grappa”.
